014103 - NPTC Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Sheep Dip

This is an Independently Assessed qualification.

Type of Learner: If you need to buy or use sheep dip products, then under the Medicines (Exemptions for Merchants in Veterinary Drugs) Order 1998 you will need to hold this qualification.

Qualification Overview: It covers preparing to dip sheep by demonstrating understanding and knowledge of legislative, welfare and environmental requirements, protective clothing, record keeping, control of external parasites, sheep diseases and dip disposal. An optional unit on practical dipping will put this knowledge in to practice.

What you need to do: Undertake an initial practical assessment prior to sheep being dipped (Unit 02) and also take a computer based test (e-volve) (Unit 03).
There is an optional practical test which covers the practical sheep dipping operation (Unit 01).
