002109 - City & Guilds NPTC Level 3 Award in Aerial Tree Rigging

Independent Assessment

This standard is about the removal of sections from a tree crown under the control of rope rigging and lifting gear. The work will be carried out by operator with significant experience of arboriculture operations and chainsaw operations in a canopy. You will carry out a tree hazard and a ‘working at height’ assessment to determine if the operative is safe to perform the work and to determine the safest and most efficient access method. This aerial work must be supported by a ground worker with significant experience of aerial treework and rigging techniques. This standard covers the use of rigging for the removal of small tree sections in relation to pruning operations where targets below may pose a significant risk through to the removal of part/whole trees where targets do not allow for free-fall/hand thrown techniques. Your work must conform to all current legislation and codes of practice. This standard is for operators with significant experience of arboriculture operations and chainsaw operations in a canopy.
